On 13 November 2018, Mr. Narong Boonsatheanwong, Chargé d’affaires, a.i., met with U Aye Win, Vice Chairman of the Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs’ Association (MEEA) together with executives of MEEA. During the meeting,  they discussed the establishment and objectives of MEEA to promote (1) socio-economic development of ethnic groups; (2) networking among ethnic entrepreneurs; and (3) businesses of these entrepreneurs both in Myanmar and abroad.

To achieve these aims, MEEA plans to (1) organize a Myanmar Ethnic Traditional Culture and Tourism Promotion Festival during 25 – 30 January 2019 at Kyike Ka San Stadium, Yangon; and (2) to develop Product of Ethnic Myanmar (POEM). Mr. Narong informed that he would circulate news on the Festival to the Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM) and businessmen in Thailand to join. In addition, he also supported meetings and discussions between MEEA and Thai agencies to exchange views on Thailand’s One Tambon One Product (OTOP) policy.
