Ambassadors and representatives of Embassies of ASEAN Countries in Myanmar paid a Joint Courtesy Call on H.E. U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations

On 18 July 2019 at 14.00 hrs., H.E. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmarjoined Ambassadors and representatives of Embassies of ASEAN Countries
in Myanmar to pay a Joint Courtesy Call on H.E. U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations (MIFER) and Chairman of Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC). U Zaw Min Win, President of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), Dr. Aung Tun Thet, Chief Coordinator, Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine (UEHRD), U Aye Lwin, member of MIC and Dr. Marlar Myo Nyunt, Deputy Director-General, Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) also attended this event.

On this occasion, the Myanmar side underscored its economic development including the implementation of Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan (MSDP) (2018 – 2030), thedevelopment of infrastructures and telecommunication which would attract more foreign direct investments. The Myanmar side also expressed its appreciation to ASEAN countries’ investment in Myanmar and its commitment to work with other ASEAN countries in jointly organizing events to promote more business and investment collaboration in the near future.
