Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar attended the signing ceremony of Joint Venture Agreement on Yangon Amata Smart and Eco City Project
On 24 January 2020, H.E. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, attended the signing ceremony of Joint Venture Agreement and Land Lease Agreement between Department of Urban and Housing Development, Ministry of Construction and Amata Asia (Myanmar) Limited to launch “Yangon Amata Smart & Eco City” at Kempinski Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw. H.E. U Han Zaw, Union Minister for Construction, H.E. U Kyaw Lin, Deputy Minister for Construction, H.E. Daw Nilar Kyaw, Minister for Electricity, Industry, Transport and Communication of Yangon Regional Government, H.E. U Aung Naing Oo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, CEO of Amata Corporation also attended this ceremony.
Apart from that, a representative from Yangon Amata Smart & Eco City also signed Memorandum of Understandings with other Thai and Japanese companies which have business in Thailand on the partnership of the development and construction of the said project namely PTT (Oil&Gas), SCG (Cement and Building Materials) and Yangon Industrial Gas (YIG) (Industrial Gas).
The 2000-acre “Yangon Amata Smart & Eco City” will be located in East Dagon Township, Yangon. It aims to develop the industrial estate with high technology and innovation and responsibility for society and environment. This project also aims to create 33,000 jobs.
