Myanmar – Thailand Business Matching and Networking Expo was held in Yangon

Myanmar–Thailand Business Matching and Networking Expo was held on Wednesday in Yangon.

It was organized by the Myanmar–Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporates (MTCCI) at its head office. Minister Counselor for the Office of Commercial Affairs of Royal Thai Embassy, Chairman of MTCCI, Founder of Myanmar Franchise License and Assistant Director of UbonRatchathani Science Park attended the Expo opening ceremony and delivered remarks. 

Assistant Director, UbonRatchathani Science Park, AnirutSuebsing said “Today, I bring just some entrepreneurs of Thailand to join and matching with entrepreneurs in Myanmar… Today is like the showcases showing products. It’s about 20 companies here and we separated four or five sectors like food, beverage, technology, supplementary care products and medicine.”

Over 100 businesspersons from Myanmar and Thai companies attended the event. The event included the seminar “Today, Why Myanmar” focusing on trade and investment rules and regulations in Myanmar for Thai investors.

Chairman, MTCCI, KichAungvitulsatit said "Objective of this ... we would like to make Thai entrepreneurs and Myanmar entrepreneurs get together and make good understanding between our 2 countries. And, also, we want to crease and investment in Myanmar as well. Some companies want to invest in Myanmar. This is a good opportunity to let know Myanmar situation now. We explain all Myanmar situation and investment regulation as well."

In this event, more than five companies signed memorandums of understanding with Myanmar entrepreneurs for product exporting.

Minister Counselor, Office of Commercial Affairs (Royal Thai Embassy), ThanawutNaigowit said "The current situation of the trade between Myanmar and Thailand expect to reach 7.6 billion US dollar this year… And we expect next year we will be increased trade between Thailand and Myanmar about one to two percent. Within one or two year, I believe that trade between can reach 8 billion US dollars. I believe in the future, we will be more cooperation between Thai side and Myanmar side in terms of the trading and investment.”

The Thai investors will visit business places and industries in Yangon, it’s learnt
