Last year promises to be a booming year for Myanmar's offshore upstream industry, when high activities in offshore sector are expected! Last year, Ministry of Energy and Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) announced Myanmar Offshore Blocks Bidding Round, offering 30 offshore blocks for bidding with 11 shallow water and 19 deep-water blocks. This bidding round attracted huge interest from the international players and investors. It is report that out of the 61 pre-qualified international oil and gas firms, 30 submitted formal proposals. It took nearly a year for the government to conduct full analyses of the bids, and the final list of winners for 20 offshore blocks both shallow and deep was uncovered on the MOE website on April 7th 2014. The next step is PSC contracts signing between the winners and MOE.
