Thilawa Special Economic Zone's first rubber production plant started operations on 25 January 2018

Thilawa Special Economic Zone first rubber production plant has kicked off on January 25th and has started operations to produce various kinds of rubber.

The plant was built by Southland Myanmar Rubber Co., Ltd in order produce international standard rubber and is the first rubber production plant to produce various kinds of rubber.

The plant, Myanmar-Singapore joint venture, will be able to produce up to 100 tons of rubber daily and is expected to produce 2,500 tons of rubbers annually.

The products from the plants are planned to export to Japan, India and China Market as well as local market.

It is a compound rubber plant and will produce high quality Modified Skim Rubber (MSR) grade 1 and 2 as well as Technically Specified Rubber.

The company has built 33 rubber factories in six countries and will try to sell Myanmar rubber at international prices in collaboration with Southland Company in Singapore.

The rubber production plant in Thilawa SEZ was build starting from July 2017 and is the first compound rubber plant in Myanmar.
