Myanmar Nautical Association (MNA) organized the 2 Day Second “Maritime Conference Myanmar 2019” in Yangon in order to promote and showcase new and upcoming market potentials of human and technical resources in the maritime industry

The 2-day Second "Maritime Conference Myanmar 2019" began on Wednesday in Yangon.

Organized by Myanmar Nautical Association (MNA), the conference is supported by the Department of Marine Administration (DMA). The Conference aims to set benchmarks with unrivalled information, to promote peer to peer networking and to showcase new and upcoming market potentials of human and technical resources in the maritime industry, which are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the key objectives of the Government.

Vice President, Myanmar Nautical Association (MNA), Captain Soe Min Aung said “Myanmar Nautical Association (MNA) is collaborating with the key industry stakeholders, regional association, government organizations and ship owners to accelerate commercial and regulatory developments in Myanmar's maritime sector. This conference focuses on how the industry has progressed in technology adoption strategy and what more needs to be done. Particularly, the focus areas of the conference are Maritime law and policy, legislation and regulation, Maritime environment, Job opportunities for Myanmar seafarers and Maritime education and Training.”   

Along with the conference, Myanmar Marine Expo (MYANMEX) and Oil & Gas Myanmar (OGAM) 2019 also took place.

The event is organized by Fireworks Myanmar (Part of Fireworks Trade Media Pte Ltd) and also supported and endorsed by Myanmar Nautical Association (MNA), Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies and Myanmar Fisheries Federation. The event is also an exceptional meeting point for the global maritime community in Myanmar.

Chief Executive Officer, Fireworks Trade Media Group, Kenny Yong said "...This will be running for two days and we are having more than 100 exhibiting brands from more than 20 different countries and we are expecting to see more than 2,000 visitors for this two days. The purpose of this exhibition is very simple. We are bringing over a lot of new technology for the ship building and the marine industry over to the people here in Myanmar and on top of that also for the Oil and Gas side we're also having a lot of equipments, suppliers from different countries coming in to help the Myanmar people understand what are the latest in the Oil and Gas industry..."

The Conference and Expo are expected to update the professional knowledge and skills and to extend the professional network with senior officers from the Government as well as local and international maritime-related companies and port operators.
