The 11th coordination meeting of the Private Sector Development Committee (PSDC) was held in Nay Pyi Taw

Chairman of the Private Sector Development Committee, Vice President U Myint Swe delivered an address at the 11th coordination meeting of the Private Sector Development Committee (PSDC) held at the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

In addressing the meeting the Vice President said that the Private Sector Development Committee (PSDC) had been formed with 20 members by Notification No. 79/2016 dated 24 October 2016 of the Office of the President to accomplish five main tasks. Five work committees led by 3 deputy ministers and 2 permanent secretaries had been formed to implement the Committee’s main tasks.

The first meeting of the PSDC was held on 28 November 2016. Four meetings were held in 2017, three meetings in 2018 and two in 2019 and this is the first one held in 2020. From the first to the 10th meeting 87 decisions were made out of which 79 were implemented while 8 were still being implemented. Relevant departments and organizations were urged to cooperate and work together towards completing the remaining 8 decisions by setting up a time frame.

Next Committee Vice-Chairman Union Minister for Commerce Dr Than Myint explained about the implementations for the development of private sector and the works carrying out for the progress in doing business ranking. Afterwards Committee Secretary Permanent Secretary U Aung Soe explained about the status of implementing decisions made at past meetings.

This was followed by Ministry of Education Director-General Dr Aye Myint, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win and officials clarified the related matters. Ease of Doing Business Ranking Promotion Working Group secretary Ministry of Commerce Permanent Secretary U Aung Soe then explained about index wise reform works and processes.

Next, the members of private sector development committee union minister U Thant Sin Maung, union minister U Win Khaing, union attorney general U Tun Tun Oo, deputy minister U Maung Maung Win, deputy governor of the central bank of Myanmar U Soe Thein and secretary general of UMFCCI U Aye Win discussed and gave the suggestions for the development of private sector.

Then, the committee secretary U Aung Soe clarified the decisions of 11th coordination meeting and the 9 decisions were approved. After coordinating upon the clarifications, the vice president U Myint Swe gave the conclusion remark.
