ธุรกิจพลังงานในเมียนมา
เมียนมามีศักยภาพในการผลิตพลังงานธรรมชาติสูง เนื่องจากมีทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ โดยเฉพาะพลังน้ำ แสงอาทิตย์ ถ่านหิน และก๊าซธรรมชาติ ในปี ๒๕๕๗ มูลค่าการส่งออกทั้งหมดของเมียนมาอยู่ที่ ๑๑.๙ พันล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ โดยกว่าร้อยละ ๓๗.๗ ของมูลค่าการส่งออกทั้งหมด หรือคิดเป็น ๔.๔๗ พันล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ มาจากการส่งออกก๊าซธรรมชาติ ซึ่งมีประเทศจีนและไทยเป็นผู้นำเข้ามากที่สุด โดยไทยใช้ก๊าซจากเมียนมาเพื่อผลิตไฟฟ้าร้อยละ ๔๒ ของการผลิตไฟฟ้าทั้งหมด

Update เศรษฐกิจเมียนมาที่งาน Myanmar Summit ครั้งที่ ๒ ของ The Economist
เมื่อวันที่ ๑๖ มิถุนายน๒๕๕๙ นิตยสาร The Economist ได้จัดงาน Myanmar Summitครั้งที่ ๒ที่โรงแรม Sedona ณ กรุงย่างกุ้ง มีผู้เข้าร่วมงานทั้งหมดประมาณ ๒๐๐ คน โดยส่วนใหญ่เป็นภาคเอกชนต่างชาติที่ทำธุรกิจในเมียนมาและมีภาคเอกชนเมียนมาด้วยภายในงานมีการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการทางเศรษฐกิจในเมียนมารวมไปถึงความท้าทายต่างๆ ภายใต้รัฐบาลพรรค NLDระหว่างนักวิเคราะห์จากนิตยสาร The Economist กับภาคเอกชนเมียนมาและภาคเอกชนต่างชาติที่ทำธุรกิจในเมียนมา โดยมีสาระสำคัญ ดังนี้
Ambassador opens 2nd Black Canyon Coffee Shop in Yangon
On 14 June 2016, Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata participated in the opening ceremony of the second Black Canyon Coffee shop in Yangon at Myanmar Plaza. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Pravit Chitnarapong, Managing Director of Black Canyon Thailand, and his business partner in Myanmar, U Soe Naing, Managing Director of Strong Source Company, as well as members of the press and Myanmar celebrities.
Thailand enhances travel experience for Myanmar visitors with Thailand Elite Card
On 10 June 2016, Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata delivered the opening address at the “Thailand Elite Hello Myanmar” event, at Sedona Hotel, to launch the “Thailand Elite Privilege Card”in Myanmar, with around 200 people participating in the event.
