เมื่อวันที่ 22 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 พล.อ.อาวุโส มิน ออง ไลง์ ประธานสภาบริหารแห่งรัฐและนายกรัฐมนตรีเมียนมา พบหารือกับนาย Maxim Reshetnikov รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจรัสเซียที่สำนักงานประธานสภาบริหารแห่งรัฐกรุงเนปยีดอ โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจและการลงทุนของภาคเอกชนในเมียนมาในด้านที่สำคัญ โดยเฉพาะภาคการผลิตไฟฟ้า ปุ๋ย น้ำมัน และผลิตภัณฑ์เคมี ความช่วยเหลือที่รัสเซียให้แก่เมียนมา และการส่งเสริมการพัฒนาแรงงานที่มีทักษะและสาธารณูปโภคขั้นพื้นฐาน -

New corn export policy causes trade slowdown
The corn trade in Myanmar has become sluggish as traders need to apply for a license of corn export, said trader from Mandalay market. Starting from 1 April 2022, 12 HS lines (10 digits) goods are no longer exempted from export license requirement in accordance with Myanmar 2017 Customs Tariff. Those items include maize, starch, corn, seed, maize and corn flour, cereal grains, millets, cereal groats, meal and pellets, buckwheat, and canary seeds. Traders must apply for an export license, and the requirement is applied to every trade channel (by cross-border, by sea, or by air freight). A total of 778 HS line (6 digits) or 1,224 HS line (10 digits) goods, including corn and wheat related exports, have been notified to seek export license. According to the notification made by the Ministry of Commerce on 9 March 2022, the new measure is aimed at ensuring food security and national security, as well as keeping record of environmental impacts. -
Construction work for the new Atran bridge, part of the East-West Economic Corridor project, started with the support from Japanese Government
With the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), construction work for the new Atran bridge, which is part of the East-West Economic Corridor project, is underway. The constructions of three bridges along the East-West Economic Corridor, namely Kawkareik bridge, Zarthapyin bridge, and Atran bridge, have begun under the NLD administration in order to facilitate the flow of goods from Mawlamyaing Industrial Zone to Dawei Deep Sea Port, and from Yangon to Ayeyarwaddy Region. In 2015, the Department of Bridges, Myanmar Ministry of Construction received an ODA loan from JICA which amounted to JPY 33.9 billion with an interest rate of 0.01%, for the said bridges’ construction. The duration of the loan is 40 years. JICA has designed the bridge layout and the Loan Agreement required local construction companies to cooperate with Japanese companies. -
POSCO to assist Shwe Gas project from 31 March to 15 June 2022
POSCO International Corporation, one of the largest South Korea’s conglomerates, has announced that it will provide support for the natural gas production in Shwe Gas project from 31 March to 15 June 2022. POSCO International Cooperation (Myanmar E & P), holding a joint-venture partnership with the Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) in oil and gas exploration activities, has announced the location for the installation of temporary remote mooring buoy in order to support natural gas production in the Shwe Gas Project, a large-scale natural gas project located in the Bay of Bengal. Therefore, Shwe Gas Project has issued a nautical warning within 4 km of the construction site to prevent any delays during the deployment of temporary vessels (Temporary Remote Mooring Buoy). Department of Fisheries has also issued a marine warning that small and large ships, cargo boats, motorboats, and fishing boats not to pass or to set fishing gears near the construction site. -
Myanmar attracted most of its FDI in service sector for the first five months of the current fiscal year, followed by manufacturing sector and construction sector
As of end of February 2022, Myanmar attracted a total of USD 530.775 million in foreign direct investment. The services sector was the highest recipient of FDI inflow at USD 206.064 million. This was followed by manufacturing sector which garnered USD 138.637 million, construction sector at USD 65 million, transportation and communications sector at USD 45.6 million, hotels and tourism sector at USD 30.497 million, energy sector at USD 20.584 million, livestock and fisheries sector at USD 19.350, and agricultural sector at slightly more than USD 5.043 million, respectively. -
Myanmar’s inflation rate rose to 11.39 per cent in the first quarter of the 2021-2022 fiscal year, up 4.56 percent from the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year
Myanmar’s average inflation rate rose to 11.39 per cent in the first quarter of the 2021-2022 fiscal year (January to March 2022), representing a growth of 4.56 per cent from the fourth quarter of last year (October to December 2021), according to a statement of the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) under the Ministry of Planning and Finance. In the 2020-2021 fiscal year, the average rate of inflation in the first quarter (October to December) was 1.08 per cent. Meanwhile the rate increased to 1.63 percent for the second quarter (January to March 2021). The inflation rate in the third quarter (April to June 2021) rose to 5.02 before increasing to 6.83 per cent in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year (July to September 2021).
