Thai Ambassador to Myanmar attended “Dazzling Shades of Thailand Gala Dinner” hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand
On 28 June 2019, H.E. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar delivered a speech at the event “Dazzling Shades of Thai Treasure Gala Dinner” hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) at Pullman Yangon Centrepoint Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar. On this occasion, representatives from both sides including Mr. Thanes Petsuwan, the Deputy Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand for Marketing and Communications who also addressed a speech, U Htaw Aung, former Union Minister of Hotels and Tourism and U Naing Win, the Director of Yangon Regional Office of Ministry of Hotels and Tourism also attended the event as well as leading Myanmar business people. The event could be regarded as another opportunity for TAT to promote Thai tourism industry to Myanmar people who are increasingly traveling to Thailand. In the event, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar emphasized the collaboration in promoting tourism industries of both countries and under the ASEAN cooperation framework on tourism which relates to the development of people-to-people relations, better connecting of connectivities in ASEAN, expansion of products and tourist destinations in ASEAN as well as leveraging the ASEAN tourism standard. -
Thai Ambassador to Myanmar attended the 30th year anniversary celebration of PTT Exploration and Production
On 21 June 2019, H.E. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar attended the 30th Anniversary Celebration of PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) in Myanmar. On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Siri Jirapongphan, Minister of Energy of Thailand as well as the representatives of public and private sectors from Thailand and Myanmar attended this event. PTTEP has invested in exploring and producing natural gas in Myanmar for 30 years. At present, the company has 7 projects including 3 production sites and 4 exploration sites which are located both offshore and onshore in Myanmar. -
Ambassador-designate of Thailand attended the Grand Opening Ceremony of Ar Yu International Hospital in Yangon
On 17 March 2019, H.E. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Myanmar attended the Grand Opening Ceremony of Ar Yu International Hospital in Yangon. H.E. Dr. Myint Htwe, Union Minister of Health and Sports of Myanmar, H.E. U Phyo Min Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Region, Dr. Boon Vanasin, Chairman of Thonburi Healthcare Group Public Company Limited, and U Nay Lynn Oo, Chairman of Ar Yu International Hospital also attended this event. -
Ambassador-designate attended “Rakhine Investment Fair 2019” and joined the economic surveying trip in Rakhine State
On 21-22 February 2019, H.E. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Ambassador-designate of Thailand, together with delegation from Thai Business Association in Myanmar (TBAM) attended the “Rakhine Investment Fair 2019” at Jasmine Ngapali Resort Hotel, Thandwe Township, Rakhine State. -
Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Myanmar attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Air Separate Unit Plant of Yangon Industrial Gas (Thilawa) Company Limited at Thilawa Special Economic Zone
On 25 January 2019, H.E. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephitak, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Myanmar attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Yangon Industrial Gas (Thilawa) Company Limited (YIG) at Thilawa Special Economic Zone, Yangon. The Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Myanmar congratulated on the construction of this plant which would benefit the development of energy industry of Myanmar and support the concept “connecting all connectivities” which is advocated by Thailand, as the ASEAN Chair of 2019. She also expressed her appreciation to Thilawa Special Economic Zone insupporting the investment of 15 Thai companies in this special economic zone. She also thanked to the Office of Thai Commercial Affairs in Yangon, the Thai Business Association of Myanmar and all Thai banks who are supportive for the growth of the Myanmar-Thailand Joint Ventures. -

Chargé d’affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon attended “Myanmar CP Sustainable Development Goal”
On 21 December 2018, Mr. Narong Boonsatheanwong, Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i., of the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon, attended “Myanmar CP Sustainable Development Goal”upon the invitation of “Myanmar CP Livestock Co., LTD.” at Signature Fine Dining and Garden Bistro, Yangon.Thepurpose of this event was to promote the corporate social responsibility(CSR) activities of Myanmar CP Livestock Co., LTD., which aims to support sustainable development through projects such as “Your Blood Can Save Lives”, “Milk For Kids”, “Food For Life”, and “Local Village Fund”. -
Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i., Gives a Presentation on Driving Forward Thai-Myanmar Relations in All Dimensions to Entrepreneurs who Participated in the Government Savings Bank of Thailand Programme
On 21 November 2018, Mr. Narong Boonsatheanwong, Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i., was invited by the Government Savings Bank of Thailand, and the Thammasat Consulting Networking and Coaching Center (CONC), to give a presentation on “Driving Forward Thai-Myanmar Relations in All Dimensions,” to entrepreneurs who participated in the project on “Activities for Descendants of the Government Savings Bank of Thailand’s Top Clients.” In addition, the organizers also invited Miss Walikar Apayasiri, Counsellor for Commercial Affairs, to give a presentation on “Important Economic Developments in Myanmar and Promotion of Thailand’s Trade and Investment Opportunities” at Melia Hotel, Yangon. The Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i., outlined the Royal Thai Government’s policy to promote Thailand’s relations with Myanmar in all dimensions. The aim is to enhance the existing close relations between Thailand and Myanmar in all areas, and to expand bilateral cooperation, especially in terms of elevating the Thai-Myanmar economic partnership. This includes (1) developing connectivity between the two countries, and facilitating trade and investment; for example, developing infrastructure, promoting more border checkpoints, and pushing for trade in Baht-Kyat. (2) organizing seminars on Myanmar’s economy with the Thai private sector to provide information on the latest economic laws and regulations; for example, the Myanmar Investment Law and the Myanmar Companies Law; and (3) organizing economic trips to take the Thai private sector to survey routes and areas which have potential for Thai-Myanmar economic cooperation, especially along the Thai-Myanmar border. -
Minister Counsellor Delivers Opening Remarks at the Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM) Morning Talk 15
On 14 November 2018, Ms. Chana Sindhvananda, Minister Counsellor, the Royal Thai Embassy, Yangon, delivered the opening remarks at the Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM) Morning Talk 15 on “Myanmar Economic Outlook 2019” at the Embassy. The Morning Talk was divided into two sessions. The first session was on the United States’ and the European Union’s perspectives and policy towards Myanmar, with Mr. John Fleming, Head of the Foreign Commercial Services Office at the U.S. Embassy, Ms. Jennifer Peterson, Head of the Economic Office at the U.S. Embassy, and Mr. Lorenzo Pascotto, Project Manager at the Cooperation Section, Delegation of the European Union to Myanmar, as guest speakers. The second session was on the perspectives and recommendations from Thai businessmen with more than ten years’ experience of doing business in Myanmar, with Mr. Sorasak Keeratichokechaikul from SCG Myanmar, Mr. Chuchart Mektrakarn from Myanmar Information Highway, and Mr. Tossatis Rodprasert from Bangkok Bank, as guest speakers.
