ข่าวสารนิเทศ : การประชุมเชิงปฏิบัติการด้านพลังงานในกรอบความร่วมมือเอเชีย ภายใต้หัวข้อ “ACD Energy Action Plan: Towards Global Energy Challenges”
ในวันที่ ๔ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๐ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศจะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุมเชิงปฏิบัติการด้านพลังงานในกรอบความร่วมมือเอเชีย (ACD Workshop on Energy) ภายใต้หัวข้อ “ACD Energy Action Plan: Towards Global Energy Challenges” ที่โรงแรมแชงกรี-ลา โดยการประชุมดังกล่าวจะจัดต่อจากการประชุมโต๊ะกลมรัฐมนตรีพลังงานเอเชียครั้งที่ ๗ (7th Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable-AMER) ที่จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ ๑ – ๓ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๐ โดยมีกระทรวงพลังงานเป็นเจ้าภาพ ทั้งนี้ ที่ผ่านมาได้มีการจัดการประชุมด้านพลังงานในกรอบ ACD แล้ว ๒ ครั้ง ครั้งที่ ๑ จัดขึ้นเมื่อเดือนมกราคม ๒๕๖๐ ณ กรุงอาบูดาบี สหรัฐอาหรับเอมิเรตส์ และครั้งที่ ๒ เมื่อเดือนสิงหาคม ๒๕๖๐ ที่สาธารณรัฐฟิลิปปินส์ และการประชุม AMER และ ACD Workshop ที่จะมีขึ้นในครั้งนี้จะเป็นครั้งแรกที่ไทยเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดกิจกรรมภายใต้สาขาพลังงาน และจะเป็นกิจกรรมแรกของไทยหลังจากที่ได้ประกาศเป็น Co-Prime Mover ด้านพลังงานที่นครนิวยอร์ก สหรัฐอเมริกา
Royal Thai Embassy Expands Cooperation between Thai Private Sector and Mandalay Regional Government
On 10 October 2017, Mr. Narong Boonsatheanwong, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, Yangon, led a delegation of 16 Thai businessmen, together with representatives from the Embassy, and the Thai Commercial Affairs Office, Yangon, to pay a courtesy call on Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Chief Minister of Mandalay Region, and discuss trade and investment opportunities. The Thai business delegation comprised representatives from the construction sector, telecoms and information technology, infrastructure, finance and insurance, while the Myanmar side included Dr. Ye Lwin, Mayor of Mandalay, and economic ministers such as U Myat Thu, Minister of Planning and Finance, U Zarni Maung, Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Construction, and U MyoThit, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon Promotes Construction Sector and Related Sectors in Myanmar
On 28 September 2017, Mr. Narong Boonsatheanwong, Minister, Royal Thai Embassy, Yangon, delivered the congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony of the 4th Myanmar Build & Décor 2017, organized by Index Creative Village Co. Ltd. The purpose of the event was to promote business networking, expand trade and investment opportunities in the construction sector, interior design and interior decoration industry, as well as furniture industry. It was organized at Myanmar Event Park and showcased over 200 brands from both local and international companies, including those from China, Singapore, Japan, and Thailand. Representatives from related Myanmar agencies gave importance to the event and also attended. They includeU Aung Myint, President of the Myanmar Engineering Society, U Sun Oo, President of the Association of Myanmar Architects, U Nyein Aung, President of the Myanmar Associateship of Government Technical Institute Society, U Tin Aung, Secretary of the Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association, and Daw Mi Mi Tin, Director from the Ministry of Construction.
Ambassador Promotes Knowledge Sharing in Tourism Industry
On 26 September 2017, Ambassador Jukr Boon-Long, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, delivered the welcome remarks at the “Amazing Thailand Roadshow to Myanmar 2017,” organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) at Novotel Yangon Max. There were altogether 35 Thai representatives from the tourism industry, and 148 representatives from the Myanmar side who attended the event.
Ambassador leads Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM) to pay a courtesy call on the Union Minister of Industry
On 11 September 2017, Ambassador Jukr Boon-Long led a delegation of 18 members of the Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM) to pay a courtesy call on U Khin Maung Cho, Union Minister of Industry. The purpose of the meeting was to follow up on the Union Minister’s study visit to Thailand in August 2017, as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand, and to discuss further details on opportunities for business partnerships between Thai companies and Myanmar state enterprises.
Royal Thai Embassy and Thai Business Association of Myanmar organize an economic seminar “Myanmar Insight 2017”
On 22 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon and the Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM) organized an economic seminar, “Myanmar Insight 2017,” at Sofitel Sukhumvit, Bangkok. The purpose was to provide information on Myanmar’s economic policies and related laws, opportunities for trade and investment, as well as experiences from successful Thai companies in Myanmar. The seminar ended with a panel on support for Thai businesses from the Royal Thai Government and TBAM, and was attended by around 500 Thai businessmen. His Excellency Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thailand, gave the opening remarks. He highlighted the close relations between Thailand and Myanmar, and reminded that His Excellency Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Foreign Minister of Thailand, was the first Foreign Minister among ASEAN member states to pay a courtesy call on Her Excellency Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor of Myanmar. The Deputy Foreign Minister stated that, based on his ambassadorial posting to Myanmar, and information from Thai businessmen, he learned three things: (1) Thai businessmen are satisfied in doing business with their Myanmar counterparts, and find Myanmar businessmen to be reliable, and men of their word; (2) Thai businessmen in Myanmar are the best source of information about doing business there, and he is pleased to note that TBAM now has almost 200 members; (3) Myanmar people have a good attitude towards Thai products, and find that they are of good quality, and good value for money. The Deputy Minister hopes that this good perception will be maintained, and encouraged Thai companies to conduct transparent and responsible business, as well as CSR activities.
Myanmar Insight 2017 Seminar
เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ส่งเสริมการแบ่งปันองค์ความรู้ด้านการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรม
เมื่อวันที่ ๑๘ – ๒๓ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๐ นายขิ่น หม่อง โช รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงอุตสาหกรรมของเมียนมาได้เยือนไทยโดยเป็นแขกรับเชิญของสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงย่างกุ้ง เพื่อศึกษาดูงานด้านการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมโดยเป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมและสังคม ซึ่งเป็นประเด็นที่ประชาชนเมียนมา และรัฐบาลเมียนมาให้ความสำคัญอย่างมาก และสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ เห็นว่าการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมของไทยสามารถเป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีได้ จึงได้ประสานงานกับหน่วยงานไทยที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อเตรียมกำหนดการทัศนศึกษาให้แก่คณะของรัฐมนตรีฯ รวมทั้งเปิดโอกาสให้รัฐมนตรีฯ ได้พุดคุยกับภาคเอกชนไทยเกี่ยวกับโอกาสลงทุนกับรัฐวิสาหกิจเมียนมาภายใต้กระทรวงอุตสาหกรรมเมียนมาด้วย
