H.E. U Myint Thaung, Minister of Planning and Finance, Yangon Regional Government, welcomed the program, which would help Myanmar executives to become more competitive. He also noted the importance of higher education in empowering the workforce and promoting sustainable economic development. U Than Zaw, Vice Chairman of the Myanmar Banks Association, stated that the program would help realize one of the objectives of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) to promote integration, standardization, and greater sharing of expertise among ASEAN member states. In addition, Associate Professor Gasinee Withoonchart, Rector of Thammasat University, and Associate Professor Dr. PipopUdorn, Dean of Thammasat Business School, provided information on Thammasat University and GEMBA.

The Chargé d’affaires supported Thailand and Myanmar’s growing collaboration on information exchange and capacity building for joint economic development. He highlighted the role of Thai banks in Myanmar in connecting Thai and Myanmar businessmen, promoting Thai-Myanmar trade and investment, as well as Thai trade in Baht-Kyat. In addition, these banks also support human resource development and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Thailandviews Myanmar as a Natural Strategic Partner and stands ready to work with Myanmar in moving towards a 4.0 economy, or a value based economy driven by innovation for the digital era.
