The 2nd Tourism MSME Forum 2019 was held in Yangon in order to develop small and medium enterprises of travel and tourism industry

MSME Development Subcommittee under the Union of Myanmar Travel Association organized the “2nd Tourism MSME Forum 2019” in Yangon on Thursday.

This is to develop small and medium enterprises of travel and tourism industry. MSME Development Subcommittee was established in 2016 and made the travel and tourism industry included in the SME Law. MSME Development Subcommittee organized the 1st Tourism MSME Forum in 2017 and 6 issues were decided for the matters including taxation, development of vocational training and education for tourism.

Chairman, MSME Development Subcommittee, Phyo Zaw Wai said “Today, we discussed again about the 6 issues from the 1st forum – we also discussed about the issues at the Tourism Conference in 2018 and submitted to the government. Today, we mainly reviewed and discussed about taxation, improvement of tourism industrial technologies, development of vocational skills, market strategies and innovation for tourism industry as well as the difficulties in the MSME tourism industry.”

Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and SME Development Department of the Ministry of Industry are supporting and providing the MSME Development Subcommittee for the development of small and medium enterprises in the travel and tourism industry.
