UMFCCI will organize monthly dialogues with respective ministries and sectors to improve the private sector and expedite business transitions

The Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) has submitted that regular dialogues will be organized in respective ministries and sectors on a monthly basis to help improve private economic sector and expedite business transactions, according to the 27th Annual General Meeting of UMFCCI.

"It is true that regular dialogue is held with the Vice President. It happens monthly. One more regular dialogue we want to hold is  for respective ministries and sectors. They are now coordinating with each other. Ministries have to take time because they are busy. We have submitted the proposal to hold regular dialogues monthly," said UMFCCI President Zaw Min Win.

Another matter submitted is for requirements in promoting export and survival of small businesses for importing substitute goods.

Zaw Min Win said, “the major issue we raised is foreign exchange rate and things we should do to promote export and to ensure continued survival of small businesses.”

Myanmar has formed Private Sector Development Committee under the leadership of Vice President (1) Myint Swe.

Under the leadership of the Vice President, the committee holds regular monthly meetings with local private businesspeople at the UMFCCI office. The meeting has been held for the 21st time so far.

According to the report of the 2018 AGM, private entrepreneurs discussed and submitted over 100 matters within eight rounds of meetings from 12th to 19th.

Those matters were dealt with relevant union ministries and regional governments.
