Kaplan Myanmar University College and Teesside University in the UK signed a MOU to offer degrees attainable in Myanmar

Kaplan Myanmar University College and Teesside University in the UK formalised their partnership by signing the Memorandum of Understanding today.

With this agreement, students can now choose from a wide range of Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree programmes from Teesside University to study and attain the qualification in Myanmar.

The programmes to be offered through KMUC in Yangon are MSc in Engineering Management, Master of Business Administration, BA (Hon) Business with International Management, Business with Accountancy, Business with Human Resource Management, Business with Marketing, Business with Cyber security, Business with Project Management and BSc (Hons) Computing, Computer and Digital Forensics, Computer Games Animation, Computer Games Design, Computer Games Programming.

Professor Paul Croney, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Teesside University, said “We are delighted to be working with Kaplan Myanmar University College. Associate Professor Rhys Johnson of KMUC, added “We aim to meet the high demand from students and working adults for top quality courses by delivering unrivalled quality education. At KMUC, combining ‘global education’ and ‘local study,’ we are immensely proud to partner with Teesside University in offering a suite of programs that are industry relevant with a specific focus on enabling career-readiness and employability of our graduates.”

In addition, KMUC announced its plan to offer USD $150,000 worth of scholarships in 2019.

Applications are open from 19 January for the opportunity to receive a scholarship ranging 25% to 100%. Student of a Diploma programme may receive either 50% or 100% scholarship, and the top Diploma student progressing to an Advance Diploma will receive 100% scholarship. There will also be a 25% scholarship for MBA programme and 20% for MSc programme.

Principal of KMUC, Ms Khine Khine Lin, said: “KMUC wants to play a part in the development of Myanmar. We want to support outstanding Myanmar students in their education journey with the hope that they will serve their community and contribute towards nation building in the future.

“Students can choose from a suite of programmes we offer from Language Certification to Diplomas, and with our renowned university partners, we deliver Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees programmes across disciplines such as Accounting & Finance, Business Management and Engineering Management.”

KMUC also signed an MOU with Myanmar Young Entrepreneurs Association (MYEA), which signifies a partnership to collaborate in areas such as offering education and training services, developing joint certificate programmes and workforce skills improvement programmes including opportunities for internships and employment that will benefit our students.
