Japanese company, Fukuda & Partners Co., Ltd (F & P) launched its first logistics facility with refrigerated and cold storage facilities in Yangon

Japanese company Fukuda & Partners Co Ltd (F&P) has launched what it says is the first logistics facility with refrigerated and cold storage facilities in Yangon City.

F&P specialises in project management of architectural design and construction for logistics and commercial facilities.

F&P started work on the development of a logistics and office space project in Thaketa township, Yangon, via its subsidiary FLP Tharkayta Co Ltd (FLP) in 2017.

The first phase of the project called LL Town Tharkayta Building B was officially opened last Thursday.

Over 130 guests from the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Myanmar, other related companies, construction partners, tenants, and stakeholders attended the opening ceremony.

“There were many issues while developing this building. Today, this logistics facility is completed by overcoming such hardships. We have received support and guidance from many people both in Japan and Myanmar to make this possible. I deeply appreciate everyone’s support,” said FLP Managing Director Fukuda San during the ceremony.

LL Town Tharkayta is a multi-functional facility composed of three buildings, Building A, B and C, covering a total land area of approximately 9,095.6 square metres and a total floor area of approximately 10,081 square metres.

In the next phase, Building C is scheduled to be completed and operational by February 2020 and Building A will be operational by September 2020. The services of these three multi-functional buildings will be expanded to include three-temperature-zone cold storage, commercial office space, stores, training and educational centres, and rental conference rooms.

LL Town Tharkayta is located on the route from the Thilawa Industrial Park, an area developed under public-private partnerships between Japan and Myanmar, to the central part of Yangon and will serve as a transfer hub for supplies from the production/import/export base to large consumer city, Yangon. In addition, the office space offered by the project will be close to the center of the Yangon convenience.

With these functions, this facility is expected to become the transportation and logistics distribution hub between the Japanese and Myanmar public-private enterprises.

F&P closed its Asia office in Singapore in March, and relocated it to Thaketa township, Yangon, in July.

Fukuda stated that F&P will continue to contribute to the economic development and expansion of employment in Myanmar through cooperation and collaboration with local companies while keeping pace with the strengthening of Japan-Myanmar relations. He added that business development in Myanmar is also one of the company’s sustainable development goals.

“The F&P Group strives to develop the community through delivering goods and information through LL Town Tharkayta which is the lifeline to the community and people’s lives. We will continue to develop this facility to be treasured by the community for the lasting future. We request your continued understanding and support for our future endeavours.” Fukuda said.
