Hoang AnhGia Lai (HAGL) to open Myanmar Plaza, part of its USD 440 million property venture, Myanmar Centre, in early December

Hoang AnhGia Lai (HAGL) is set to open Myanmar Plaza, part of its $440-million property venture, Myanmar Centre, in early December, the Vietnamese real estate developer said.

Touting Myanmar Plaza as the “first international retail experience in Yangon”, HAGL said the facility will feature a range of international and local retailers and lifestyle outlets, while housing the largest food court in the country. Australian coffee chain Gloria Jean’s Coffee will also have a branch there, it added.

HAGL said the retail spaces in Myanmar Plaza will benefit from the foot traffic from the larger integrated property, which also will feature offices, a five-star hotel and residences.

The five-storey Myanmar Plaza is anchored by two department stores, Blazon and MK, where shoppers will find international brands, accessories and clothing items.

Additionally, several high-end brands will be opening their first outlets in the country, including Chopard, Zegna and Furla.

Myanmar Plaza has also confirmed a 2,000-square-metre outlet of high-end grocer MarketPlace, home appliance and electronics flagship stores, 10 lifestyle shops, and 37 beauty and fashion shops offering more than 100 brands.

Some other shops to open include Ya Kun Kaya Toast, Fuji Restaurant, Quicksilver, Skechers and L’Occitane, HAGL said.

The 4,000-sqm food court will offer 31 cafes, fast food, fine dining, and teashops, while two new bars and lounges, designed with Singapore and Japanese concepts, will open on the garden rooftop with a view of Inya Lake.
