Chin State Government invited Expression of Internet (EOIs) for the development of shopping mall and motel on four acres of land near Hakha City’s Myo Thit Quarter in Chin State

The Chin State government is inviting submission of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the development of a shopping mall and motel on four acres of land near Hakha City’s Myo Thit Quarter.
The project will be implemented under build-operate-transfer (BOT) scheme, according to U Vani Liang, head of the Chin State Municipal Committee’s engineering department,
“We will choose the proposal which offers the lowest cost with a short construction time by local investors,” said the official.
The EOI application period is November 29 – December 30. The bidding date will be announced thereafter.
The state, which remains one of the least developed in Myanmar and the recipient of the lowest amount of investment, offers land lease for up to 70 years as well as seven years of tax exemption by way of investment incentives.
Authorities consider Chin State to have tourism potential as it received over 16,900 local visitors and 2,400 foreign visitors last year. The state is home to Natma Mount National Park, Bontalar Waterfall, Resistance leader Cawn Bik’s native village, Rih lake and mountain ranges.
Chin State is part of the strategic Kaladan Multimodal Transit Transport Project involving Myanmar and India.
