The 2th Private Sector Development Committee Meeting was held in Nay Pyi Taw to implement effectively matters including in the framework of private sector development

Chairman of Private Sector Development Committee, Vice President U Myint Swe addressed 12th Private Sector Development Committee Meeting and coordination meeting of Ease of Doing Business Ranking Promotion Working Group at the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw, Friday.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee, Vice President U Myint Swe said to implement effectively matters including in the framework of private sector development, the committee was formed on 24 October 2016 with 20 members and the term of the committee has been over three years.

The committee has passed a total of 96 resolutions, and of which 79 points have been implemented, and the remaining 17 points are being undertaken. The 31st meeting of the Committee was held in December 2019 and there were a total of 369 points of suggestions from entrepreneurs.

He added that the Ease of Doing Business Ranking Promotion Working Group was formed with 14-members led by the Deputy Minister for Commerce to link between the ministries for promoting the rank of Ease of Doing Business.

In Ease of Doing Business Report 2020 issued by the World Bank, Myanmar included in top-20 most-improved countries and was ranked 165 among 190 countries in the ease of doing business.

The Vice president emphasized on implementing the short and long term plans in cooperation with relevant ministries and organizations within the target times for improving the business sector.

He also called for improving the country’s economic sector and raising public awareness for the reform process of the Ministry. Later, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Union Minister for Commerce Dr. Than Myint reported in implementations for private sector development and improvement of Ease of Doing Business.

Officials reported on their sector-wise implementations for improving Ease of Doing Business Ranking. The meeting adopted 14 decisions and ended with a closing remark by Vice President U Myint Swe.
