The validity of importer and exporter registration will be extended up to 30 July 2020

Following the coronavirus impacts, the validity of importer and exporter registration that will expire between 27 April and 30 July 2020 has been extended until 30 July, according to the notice of the Trade Department.
After that extension, the relevant companies can extend their registration from the new deadline mentioned.
The trade department offers an online system for over 700 items including CMP garment and necessary import items such as pharmaceuticals and related items, hospital equipment, foodstuffs, fertilizers, palm oil and oil products, milk and dairy products, electronic devices, fuel oil, lubricants, motorbikes and bicycles, agricultural products, lead, sugar, natural gas and other products.
To carry out the fully online licencing system during the emergency period of coronavirus outbreak, H.S codes for over 700 items have been issued, indicated the data by the Trade Department.
As per the fully online licencing system, only items registered under H.S lines are available.
The applicants need to fill out the online application and invoice and approval from the respective departments are required to be attached in pdf format.
The necessary guidelines for the online systems have been shown on the website. They can see their application status online, the trade department stated.
The ministry launched the online licencing system for export and import businesses starting from 1 April, intending to reduce the person-to-person contact and mitigate the spread of coronavirus disease. This being so, under the new service, the process of licence applications, fee payment and receiving licences can be done online. Licence applications can be processed on www.myanmartradenet.com.mm.
The companies need to sign up membership, and application fee can be paid with the MCB eCommerce Pay of the Myanmar Citizens Bank at present. Later, the MPU eCommerce pay will be available soon.
For the Customs clearance process, the electronic data will be sent to the Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance System (MACCS) of Customs Department. —GNLM (Translated by Ei Myat Mon)
