The Myanmar Plaza, built by Vietnamese property developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL), is set to open on December 5, offering a range of shops, restaurants and special events for the month of December.

The Myanmar Plaza is part of the Myanmar Centre, a massive $440-million mixed-use development on Kabar Aye Pagoda road in Yangon with office towers, a hotel and residential apartments.

HAGL said Myanmar Plaza will benefit from the foot traffic from the larger integrated property.

The 4,000-square-metre food court at Myanmar Plaza will offer 31 cafes, fast food, fine dining and teashops, and will be the largest in Myanmar by far. The court will have a Burmese corner, International corner and Gourmet corner.

The Myanmar Plaza will have five stories and is anchored by the Yangon’s first two department stores, Blazon and MK.

Additionally, several high-end brands will be opening their first outlets in the country, including Chopard, Zegna and Furla. These stores join Forever Gems, which was one of the first shops to open.

HAGL said throughout the month of December there will be year-end performances and activities, such as a giant community Christmas tree lighting ceremony, dance and music shows, a charity program and special talent showcases.

The grand opening will be on December 5 and last until Christmas weekend.

Myanmar Plaza has also confirmed a 2,000sqm outlet of high-end grocer Market Place, home appliance and electronics flagship stores, 10 lifestyle shops, and 37 beauty and fashion shops offering more than 100 brands.
