The export value exceeded over USD $ 730 million in over seven months this year

Export value, mostly from agricultural products, in over seven months of this fiscal year has exceeded over US$730 million compared to the same period of last year, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

From October 1 to May 15 in the current 2019-2020 FY, export earnings reached US$11.239 billion while the same period of last FY saw US$10.508 billion.

Myanmar mainly exports agricultural produce, livestock products, marine products, fisheries, mineral products, forest products, finished industrial goods and other items.

In seven and a half months of this FY, export of agricultural products was valued at US$2.6 billion exceeding about US$440 compared to the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, export value of animal products reached over US$60 million falling over US$230 million; that of fishery products over US$61 million exceeding over US$84 million; that of marine products over US$1.2 billion exceeding over US$270 million; that of finished industrial goods US$5.8 billion falling nearly US$9 million and that of other kinds of goods over US$780 million exceeding over US$180 million.

Total trade value in the current financial year is targeted to reach US$34 billion with US$18 billion in export sector, Union Minister for Commerce Dr Than Myint said.
