Thai cement giant Siam Cement Group (SCG) records 20 million USD in sales revenue from its ready mixed concrete business in Myanmar in 2015 fiscal year, a 31% rise year on year

Thai cement giant Siam Cement Group (SCG) said its Myanmar unit recorded $20 million (K23 billion) in sales revenue from its ready mixed concrete business in fiscal year 2015, a 31 percent rise year on year.

According to SCG’s 2015 operating results, SCG in Myanmar owned K400 billion ($305 million) worth of total asset, an increase of 96 percent year on year from the investment in the Mawlamyine Cement plant, which is set to come online in mid-2016.

The company also reported a fourth quarter (2015) revenue from sales of K5 billion ($4 million), a 5 percent increase year on year.

SCG said it has been expanding market coverage and strengthening distribution channel across Myanmar to serve business expansion and forthcoming commercialisation of the cement plant.

SCG began its business in Myanmar over 20 years ago. With five subsidiaries driven by 340 employees, SCG sells variety building materials market products.

Its available products are Portland cement, roofing, fibre-cement board, fibre-cement wood substitute, insulation under the brand ‘SCG’, ready-mix concrete under the brand ‘CPAC by SCG’, and ceramic surface covering, fitting and sanitary ware under the brand ‘Cotto’.
