Kayin State Chief Minister calls for reclaiming vacant, fallow, virgin lands to attract investors in Kayin State

VACANT, fallow, virgin land is need to be reclaimed for attracting investors when they visit Kayin Investment Fair which will be held in November, said Kayin State Chief Minister Nan Khin Htway Myint at a coordination meeting held on 20 October with State and Township Committees for Re-scrutinizing Confiscated Kayin State Farmland and Other Lands, State Land Management Group, State Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Group.
As investors in Kayin State can enjoy 7 years of tax exemption, more foreign investments are likely to flow into the state. At this time, we have to explain the land sector and so, Kayin State government and the related committee need to centralize land records and manage vacant, fallow and virgin land.
At this meeting, the secretary U Min Min of the committees reported that there were 42 land use problems during the previous government period left to be resolved. Those problems might be resolved within one or two months with the help of related township and district Land Records authorities. In addition, he also explained about vacant, fallow and virgin land management activities. They have also dealt with land disputes and confiscation complaints to the committees to a certain extent and the members of the committees suggested ideas. Kayin State Chief Minister concluded the speech encouraging the committee members to prepare for possible land requirements as investments and projects are likely to flow into the State. There were 5,337.64 acres of land which Kayin State ministries and some organizations surrendered them to be returned to the original owners.
